Thursday's News
I just finished reading the NY Times and found an interesting article about educators in Georgia being convicted of racketeering for their role in a test score fixing scandal. If I haven't mentioned it before I am not in favor of all the nerve racking testing on all levels of education. I am especially not in favor of the SAT as a criteria for college entrance. I feel they are bias and favor middle class students.
Here's the first paragraph of the article...
ATLANTA — In a dramatic conclusion to what has been described as the largest cheating scandal in the nation’s history, a jury here on Wednesday convicted 11 educators for their roles in a standardized test cheating scandal that tarnished a major school district’s reputation and raised broader questions about the role of high-stakes testing in American schools.

Re: Thursday's News
I believe the SAT as a criteria for college entrance should be abolished completely. I also believe there should be a 1000 word essay on a subject of the student's choice as the sole criteria for college entrance.
This is only my opinion and probably won't have any effect on educators.

This is only your opinion, but more importantly, it's not philosophy. You seem to think anything that pops into your noggin is philosophy. This is either current events/politics or education.
People don't complain too much when you dump everything in the Philosophy forum, probably because 1) this subforum has been the one-stop shop for crackpots like you for years, and 2) maybe they don't want your mental diarrhea all over the board. But it's mildly annoying that you're so full of yourself that you think everything you post belongs here.

I think Education is included in Philosophy. James Dewey the Philosopher helped to start the public school system in America

Re: Thursday's News
But your comments on education are not philosophy. Not that you understand that, since you don't ever crack a book.

I voiced my opinion and I am entitled to my opinion. You have voiced your opinion and you are entitled to your opinion.

Re: Thursday's News
It's not an opinion that this is a thread about current events. You even put it in the title. I've told you before to post threads in the appropriate forum to the topic. It would be nice if you made some minimal effort to give a rat's ass about anything other than your own ego, but I know that's unlikely so I'll just move this thread myself.

Re: Thursday's News
Bob, I don't care if you want to make a whole bunch of posts about random topics, even if they're redundant. What is bothering me right now is that all your new threads are making it difficult to navigate the forum.
If you want to talk about the Georgia testing scandal, we have an entire forum here dedicated to Education. This has been an ongoing story, so chances are very good someone has discussed it there already. It is a worthwhile topic for discussion, and if you'd started a thread about it in good faith in the proper forum, with a more descriptive title, someone probably would have discussed it with you.
But your main problem is that you just start too many new threads. If you'd limit yourself to just a few threads--maybe one about your book in the Philosophy forum, one for music videos in the Arts & Literature forum, and a news thread in the News, Politics & Law forum--you'd probably find some people who would talk to you about those things, and more importantly, you wouldn't be attracting people who are mad at you.
You are making it harder for other people to have discussions right now, because all of these new threads you're creating are bumping the threads toward the bottom of the pages and making them hard to find.
If you'd stop flooding the forums with new threads like this, people would probably be a lot less hostile toward you, and they might even discuss things with you.
I don't expect you to listen to what I'm telling you, but I'm going to emphasize this anyway just in case: You are trashing up this board with all your new threads. People are mad at you because you're making this forum harder to use.

Also, because this shitload of threads is mostly about a book you want to sell, it could be regarded as commercial spam.

Or maybe if you'd looked for threads in "News" or "Education" to see where it has been discussed before ... and participated by posting in that thread instead of spamming up everywhere with your own multiple and repetitive threads, that you purposely refuse to return to, like daylilies that only bloom for 24 hours. You behave strangely for someone who claims to want discussion. You never discuss; you only pontificate.

I don't normally do this, but I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and bob.
Like you said, his threads are affecting the ease of navigation.
