Default Bill Buckley on the Valerie Plame Affair

William F. Buckley Jr., a former deep cover CIA man himself and one of the founders of modern conservatism, says that, although the outing of his service in Mexico 15 year after the fact damaged "no one except for the ones put off by my deception", this is a serious matter. "In the swirl of the Libby affair, one loses sight of the real offense, and it becomes almost inapprehensible what it is that Cheney/Libby/Rove got themselves into. But the sacredness of the law against betraying a clandestine soldier of the republic cannot be slighted."
