Default Bush dooms GOP hopes in VA

Democrat Kaine Wins Virginia Governor's Race
Mark Rozell, a professor of public policy at George Mason University, said it was a "high risk" move for both Mr. Bush and Mr. Kilgore to have the president campaign in Virginia at a time when his approval rating was below 50 percent and Mr. Kilgore's ability to win was in doubt. Mr. Bush's appearance, Mr. Rozell said, could have caused a "counter surge" of Democrats and "angry-at-Bush" independent voters.
Republicans will be treating Bush like anthrax powder this time next year.

But in other news, "Jesus" will be a correct answer on high school science quizzes in Kansas:
Among the most controversial changes was a redefinition of science itself, so that it would not be explicitly limited to natural explanations.

Also, the classy attempts by Republicans to use their opponent's ex-wife's statements as campaign fodder failed in NJ:

Corzine Defeats Forrester in New Jersey Governor's Race

Did Republicans win anything tonight, aside from making Kansas a laughing stock (again)?

Conservative Virginia rejects the REpublicans. A glimpse of things to come. The "Party Of God" has fucked up so much Castro could beat them in any election! The Kansas School Board being taken over by religious militants is a huge embarrassment to the state and Kansas City, even though only a small sliver of KC is in Kansas. That's what we get for electing and re-electing Christian ayatollahs year after year. The problem: Voter turnout is very low among normal people, especially for school board elections. But the crazies pour out of the woodwork to push the Christian agenda at any election.

Incumbent mayors won easily yesterday in Atlanta, Boston and Houston. But in St. Paul, Randy Kelly became the city's first incumbent mayor in more than 30 years to lose a re-election campaign.

Polls suggested that Mr. Kelly's endorsement of President Bush last fall was a factor in his loss to a fellow Democrat, Chris Coleman, by 70 percent to 30 percent.

"I have never seen anything quite like this," Lawrence Jacobs, director of the University of Minnesota Center for the Study of Politics and Governance, said about what he called a political firestorm over the endorsement.

Shit, Bush can't even get Democrats elected.

So Forrester didn't spend enough? Because he's a "zillionire" too.
