Re: What's up with you?
I lived in five different places in three cities with my mom and diminishing numbers of siblings until I was 16, then I was out on my own. For no good reason I had the idea to go to each of those five places and take pictures of them yesterday, so I did that.
Unrelated, I have been trying to get a list of all my previous employers from the SSA for years and finally succeeded. I can now say with confidence that I have had over 50 employers, and because some of those were temp agencies I can safely say I've had even more jobs. Probably on average about one per year of my life, in fact.

I couldn't get to all the places I lived in up to the age of 16 in one day. Maybe technically in a 24 hour period, most of it driving.
For Miisa it would involve a couple of flights.

It would likely take me a month to accomplish such an objective.
I was in 14 different schools, in ten states, by the time I completed high school.

fwiw, you're super not alone there. Washing out of college was my first failure, literally the first time in my life I didn't excel at what I was trying to do. It was 1994 and I got my first computer and internet and I spent all my time fucking around with that instead of going to class. I eventually got my BS degree 18 years later, but I never stopped feeling ashamed when I would put "some college" on whatever application or form I was filling out.

I'm just gonna drop in here to say that my college career was not quite as stable as my High School history.

Now all we need is for someone to link liv to someone's post somewhere, say Bey's tie-dyes on F******k, and remind her of this place.

Re: What's up with you?
When I asked ChatGPT to pretend to be Carl Jung and give me some self-help advice, it suggested writing in a journal any time I have a strong negative emotional reaction to something, especially people, and analyze why I think I experienced that. What inner beliefs, motivations, and personality traits might cause me to feel that way?
I've naturally done this to a degree, but that's been the focus in my journal for the past 10 days or so. I've found it quite helpful.
I started taking buspirone for anxiety again. I had a good experience with it in the past. The most effective med I've tried was a traditional anti-depressant. I stopped taking it because it made me feel not-human. It completely eliminated my anxiety, but it also removed all of my other emotions. I'd rather feel something negative rather than nothing at all. No thanks.

Re: What's up with you?
I spent the whole day on the sofa doing a crossword puzzle, watching YouTube videos and looking stuff up in Wikipedia. It was awesome.

That might be me today.
I've had a sore throat and cough - covid test negative - and then flew England - Finland yesterday. Went to bed at 8:30, got up 12 hours later.

Re: What's up with you?
The Hamas attacks have been indirectly weird for me in that my name is Ari and I'm a big fan of the genre of music played at the festival, but also I'm not Jewish and I never plan on partying a stones throw from a tense international border with a potential enemy. It's an odd combination of both hitting close to home and missing by miles.

I spent most of yesterday unsnarling a massive "Flying Spaghetti Monster" ball of electrical wiring inside the wall of the bathroom we are attempting to remodel at daughter's house.

Re: What's up with you?
I went to my baby shower today and had an existential crisis. Came home and sat on the couch for a bit, life didn't feel real. It actually didn't feel like the baby was real until the baby shower for some reason.
I've barely looked at the news for over a week and I'm healthier for doing so.
Had an interview with O'reilly Auto Parts for a software dev position. I think I did pretty damn good.
I really need a psychedelic trip again. The sanest times in my life were when I was eating shrooms or taking LSD on a somewhat regular basis, like every few months. It's been a few years since the last one. It's pretty easy to cultivate your own psilocybin mushrooms now with all-in-one kits that are completely legal. Gonna look into that. I need that now more than ever.
I need a hard break from electronics for a few months to focus on a new job + baby which is a lot. The only thing I'm allowed to use a computer for is my job.

I'm unsure how it looks at the moment, but in the past I would highly recommended the blue forum that rhymes with the boomery for cultivation information.
