IMO, they're going to let him. Biden was bad this debate, but bad in the way that Biden is often bad, so .

I saw a clip of Biden in today's rally basically saying, "I fucked up, but I will learn from this." If Biden was 50% of this during the debate, it wouldn't have even been a question of who did better.

They are letting poor Joe look bad against Trump so at the last minute, probably September, they can introduce a very likable candidate and all of the JOE supporters will say YAY! Trump is losing supporters around the country. there is a lot of lip-flapping from his MAGA Rats but when I go driving around out here on the Plains, I don't see all the Trump flags and MAGA Hats that there used to be.
And nobody is doing the "Let's Go Brandon." thing, anymore. I think it's going to be the Reds that will be squirming to put up another guy at the last minute.

We'll end up with Ol' Two-step Ted, or Roaming Ron D trying to pick up the pieces. and get out the Vote.

Joe got off to a rough start, yesterday, but it didn't hang him up. He kept stepping, and finished with head high. As an old friend of mine used to say, "There's no hill for a Stepper."

I have no idea what he really meant by that, but it seems to apply, here.

I didn't say that.

I'm saying that Biden is not going to step aside because of a single bad performance, and no one in the Democratic Party is going to force him, even if that single bad performance is the most crucial point in the election so far. It can and probably will be rationalized away by party leadership.

I said that the debate wouldn't have been close if Biden had any sort of energy like he did in that clip — in my opinion, Biden had to sell himself as still a viable candidate to "win", and I don't think he succeeded.
