So far the most worked up over Biden poorly representing himself in talking head form seem to be the talking heads themselves, the media is just flipping out, not really over anything he said but just that he's not that presentable on TV.
I think we'll see a push towards Biden and Pals, the idea we aren't just voting for king Biden to do everything but for him to competently pick people who will.

One reason to choose Biden over Trump is simply the fact that Biden will actually attract the best people to work for the government and will manage them more or less competently. I don't think Biden has publicly insulted a single member of his cabinet.

I love how Shelby just ignores the last 10+ years of actual criminal investigations which show that there's very little fraud, none at statistically meaningful levels, and it is predominantly by right-wing people trying to counter completely nonexistent fraud from the other side, and thinks this is an actual component of Democrat strategies or a thing they'd be considering.

This is just, like, 100% disconnected from reality, and I think this is sort of the underlying problem. We're no longer in a world where truth matters; we're in a world where if the news sources that make you feel good repeat a thing enough, you just accept it and never think about it or look at evidence.

So anyways, the inability to get away from presidential debate headlines on every news site has left me noticing one thing, at no point have I ever seen "Trump won" I've seen Biden panic, Biden lost, they both lost, and we all have lost, but no Trump wins. It's probably out there somewhere.

I kinda missed a lot of the Great Debate the other day. I was flipping back and forth between it and a Re-watch of District 9.
(Guess which was most interesting.)

I really don't know who thought that a debate between the Old Fart and the Shyster was going to prove anything, or change anyone's mind.
Most people already knew what they were going to decide way back in '21.
You either want to continue the great Democratic experiment, or you want to be a Fascist. It's really that simple.

And the Old Fart isn't that old, really. My Wife has a couple years on him. (Not that I'd want to see HER running the country.)

Ok, maybe I was wrong about this...

Kamala Harris has crashed in on the betting sites. She is now the favourite to be the nominee around an Evens shot compared to Biden who is 3/1 now. This all happened overnight last night and throughout today.

She was around 10/1 yesterday and now 1/1

Similarily, she was about 30/1 to win the election a day or 2 ago and she is now 4/1. Somebody* is putting down decent sized chunks of money that Joe will not be the nominee. As well, before this happened, Newsom was the second fav to be the nominee behind Biden. Harris was the same odds as Michelle Obama (). Does that mean Biden might step down? If Harris was President she would be the de facto nominee I guess?

All this is wild speculation of course, but it's an interesting turn of events.

The Majority Report crew commented that only Kamala Harris has legal access to the Dem's war chest, making her the most logical choice to replace Biden. I worry that she's a black woman and there's lots of racism and misogyny in this land, but that's the biggest objection I have to the concept.

Anyone here think Biden should stay the course?

Biden did wander off the stage in the middle of a question before asking for a glass of milk and a nappy, the man then clearly confused his wife for a hat, he's unfit for the job. /s

Replacing Biden would really signal that even the dems are voting for a king, as I don't see any reason those who might replace him can't suddenly become way more vocal in his defense as part of his 'squad' so as to not send everything into chaos a few months before hand. People seem to be acting like a vote for Biden Harris is only a vote for Biden and that there will be some sort of pistols at dawn to determine the presidency if Biden becomes unfit. Replacing Biden with the person who would replace Biden, seems nonsensical.

I'm in the "Stay the Course" Camp. That would be my take, regardless of who is the VP.

Yes, I can already see what kind of pushback Harris would face should she find herself having to take over.

Well, I fully expected a bad showing at the debate.
Yeah, it looks scary. But the "Changing Horses in Midstream" Strategy does not strike me as a solid course to follow, either.
I've watched every appearance Joe has had since the debate, and He seems to holding his own.

He is really the only hope, Unless Liz Cheney wants to convert to a Democrat and go for it,...

We are stuck with relying on the People to realize what an incredibly stupid idea it is to vote for The Donald.

Damaged his chances of winning and he should drop out and let someone else run without a solid second in the field are two different things. It hasn't even been a week since the debate, and no one has cast a vote in the election, this is all panicked speculation about how it might have maybe affected unknown voters in a contest that is not happening at this moment.

It all comes down to, do we think the undecided voters who have yet to make up their mind between a man who many are saying is a child rapist and Biden, come election day will think back to this debate and think "Biden was a bit slow in that debate, I'm voting for the man who many are saying was in the Epstein call logs." I don't, or at least I don't think they were really undecided.

However, if I was in the media I think I would be freaking out because a president who looks bad in front of the camera is bad for business.

I'm freaking out because I think he has been showing rapidly increasing signs of physical and mental enfeeblement over the past year, and after watching the debate I became genuinely concerned that he won't be able to walk and talk by November.

As much as I hate the prick I'd be more than happy to be wrong, but given the existential threat posed by Trump, it seems crazy to me not to consider putting up someone who can at least stay conscious through a 90 minute debate. I'm not saying push him out. I'm saying if he comes to his senses in the next week and steps aside, who are the Dems most likely to rally around. I believe it will be Harris because she has the access to the funds, the name recognition, and presumably Biden and all the other Dem's endorsement.
