Moral turpitude is still a functional term of art in immigration law as grounds for deportability. In any event I disagree about removing the term "moral turpitude". Its utility is clearly revealed by the etymology of the term, a combination of attitude and turpentine; hence moral turpitude: copping a moral 'tude so nasty it'd peel paint. You tell me what expression could take its place.
