Default Pancakes!

Am scoffing homemade pancakes with maple syrup right now .. absolutely delicious, though definitely fattening. It's probably not proper maple syrup but it's nice anyway :D

*condescends to hand out pancakes*.

I am chucking a shrove tuesday party on my forum actually (sorry for unwonted advertising but I AM!) http://europeforum.12.forumer.com/vi...?p=27719#27719

You know proper pancakes should never, ever come out of a packet, right?!

Nooooooooooooo! that is very bad :).

Do you have sweet or savoury pancakes? I've never really got what a savoury one is .. well, we have crispy pancakes here filled with mince beef or chicken or cheese or something but I presumed that they just shared the same name. I always have pancakes with something sweet and always made from scratch :)

I like making blueberry crepes that are filled with a ricotta and sausage stuffing and then eaten with blueberry pancake syrup. But I cannot remember the recipe offhand. I have to call me mum to get it.

Oh free pancakes today? Hummm maybe i'll talk hubby into dinner at IHOP.

I can not make home made pancakes to save my life. Not from a box, or a bag or from scratch. Its the ONLY thing Ive ever found that I can't make.

I con my sister into making huge batches of them and I store them in the freezer.

yumm maple syrup...even better Rogers golden syrup....even better Lemon and sugar

What's up with pancakes on Mardi Gras? I've never heard of that before I moved to the Twin Cities, yet it is obviously a tradition that everyone else is participating in.

Yeah, I'm no pancake fan either, alice. Although I do enjoy a wee silver dollar pancake with apple sauce on top, a stack, or even one normal sized pancake, is totally out of the question for me.

I think it's a British tradition .. people gave up .. well, just about everything that was any fun for lent, and so the day before lent they'd have a big blow out and make pancakes, batter puddings in which they chucked - well, just about everything that they weren't going to be able to eat for the next 40 days.

It's the same recipe as Yorkshire Pudding, but it's fried in a pan and generally served with sweet stuff.
