Book reviews to do. I am so behind, and seem to have no motivation. Ok well I wrote a rough draft yesterday, so 791 to go.

Kev, I forgot about that angle of a bazillion drunken types descending on us. We have congestion enough as it is on holiday weekends with ferry traffic backed up through town. The government decided to fix the problem and keep the traffic out of town; however, it only made the backups in town worse because they are not sitting in ferry lanes anymore when they go down to the dock. IMAGINE THAT! :inmycar:

People aren't supposed to modify the exhausts etc., on motorcycles, but many do. When the bike reaches 3 years old, it won't pass its MOT test with many of the aftermarket exhaust kits. The usual dodge is to temporarily re-fit the original exhaust, just for the test, and then revert to the noisy one afterwards.

I don't like noisy exhausts; they just draw attention to the bike - the police can hear it coming from miles away - I prefer the 'stealth' approach.

Also, many of these noisy systems actually reduce the performance of the bike - this seems crazy to me. If I had to put up with more noise, I'd want better performance in return.

989,790 Yeah, a lot of people say "loud pipes save lives", but I think that is just an excuse. Because all you really do is piss people off. When I started to go up the mountain yesterday, there were two Harleys about 75 yards behind me, and I could hear their engines better than I could hear my own. I couldn't imagine having to sit on top of that noise all the time.
