Angry Bush blocked probe into spying

Had enough?

Read it and grumble

2008 can't come soon enough sometimes. I hope elections will still mean something then.

I thought there was something called checks and balances? I think I remember that being a huge thing taught in my American history and government class. Is it time already to revise the textbooks?

The checks and balances always work much better if there is a sharing of the power. Once both houses of Congress and a majority of the SCOTUS is in the corner of the president, many illicit things can be done without fear of immediate consequences. It is possible to do something prior to 2008, but it would require a sea change in both houses of Congress, to the point that either censure and/or impeachment could even be discussed. As long as the Repugnantcans control the House, there will be no such action, 'cause they are too busy sitting on their thumbs to protect Dumya and Dickhead.
