Re: MAFIA - Game II
Legs, be careful about falling into the gambler's fallacy trap. vm gave the roles randomly via the ran function in Excel so it's equally likely that the people you mentioned above aren't what you think they are, regardless of who they were last game.

Crumb was a good guy last time, so he may be scum this time round. I am sticking with Crumb.

That's kind of my reasoning about Crumb. At first it was just a random "somebody's got to go" thing, now he's just being too quiet about it.

Re: MAFIA - Game II
Being too quiet?
I'm an innocent townie. I'd rather not be lynched. Lynch NC Kev instead. Is that better?
sheesh. Our roles in game 1 have nothing to do with our roles in this game. vm chose them randomly.

Just checking in.
Don't know how much I'm going to be able to participate in this game.
My father-in-law had a heart attack last night.
I may have to leave the game prematurely.
Just wanted everyone to know.
Catching up now and reading where we're at. Will be back with my vote sometime after lunch today. (In about an hour)

Sounds like classic misdirection to me.
Especially since Crumb was begging for his life in the post right above my 'declaration of innocence'.

Re: MAFIA - Game II
I'm sorry to hear of your father-in-law I hope he'll make a speedy recovery. We can always lynch you if you want to.
The probability that Crumb's a townie's 17/20 and the probability of him being a mafioso is 3/20, so the odd of being innocent's greatly in his favor.

Yeah, that "being too quiet about it" justification sounds a tad contrived at this early stage in the game. I reads like misdirection to me.

Re: MAFIA - Game II
The selection is random, vm says. So Adam's as likely as anyone to be scum this time.
Nobody else thinks he has it coming? It's a thin pretext, I'll admit, but thin's better than nothing at this point.

its the whole juxtaposition of things, you accuse crumb say that he is being too quiet, which i really dont say. declare your own innocence complete with im not going to beg only a criminal would do that shtick.
hmmm..

I may ask to be lynched instead of bowing out. You know give everyone some enjoyment of impaling me, tearing my limbs off, castrating me, etc.
I'm waiting now for a call from my wife to hear about his status.
Thanks everyone for all the well wishes. That man is the world to me. He basically took care of my family while I was in my coma.
I am being optimistic at this point however.

I don't think he has it coming, but I can see how someone might wish to see the last game's most accomplished liar eliminated first. That's not about revenge so much as pre-emptive self-defense, though.
Having said that, I don't find that sufficient motivation for me to vote for him.

They transfered him to St. Thomas hospital in Nashville last night (this morning at about 3a.m. I'm still anxiously waiting to hear from her now. She's one tough bird given what she went through with me.
Thanks so much liv.
This is why I love this place and you people so much.

Well, maybe you're right. But the preemptive self-defense rationale is in bad odour these days...

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law, Smilin. I hope you and Mrs. Smilin are doing okay. An alternative to lynching Smilin's character is just to recruit a stand-in who can give his spot back if the character is still alive.
By the way, there are lots of players visible reading this thread. Y'all might want to think about that come Nightfall. I'm just sayin'.

shit, i didnt know you were in a coma. and now that you underline your finl's importance, i really hope hes ok.
well, if you have to quit, vm can just modkill you. that way we dont waste a lynch.
when is your wife supposed to call? do you know how serious the heartattack was? also, im pretty sure everything will be ok, modern medicine and all that. heartattacks are very treatable.
