Re: Mafia - Game III
Ok, I see there was a little discussion about my actions, so let me see if I can explain myself a little better.
Josh, I think you are overanalyzing my comments about godfry and bey. First of all beyelzu didn't start out as an innocent townie last game, he was the vigilante. Saying my vote was revenge was merely a joke, as I truely hold no ill will against anyone. My life was short in the last game, but I had a blast in that short time.
Godfry simply threw out my name in this game, with no explaination whatsoever. So, tit-for-tat, I'm voting for him.
I'm really not sure why I'm setting off some of your mafia-radars, but you can rest assure that I am a townie.

I know I am overanalyzing them--that's what I do, in and out of Mafia--but as I said, I didn't really draw any negative conclusions from them:

As far as the godfry thing, I just want to avoid confusion. Whenever you cast aspersions on someone, a nagging doubt is created in reader's minds even if the quality of the evidence is slight, and that suspicion can kind of fester until you're just sure they are scum. The damage might already be done, of course, but hey, I'm trying.
And the vigilante is a good guy just like the cop or the doctor, by the way.

I did however want to set the record straight with his comments on godfry, since those were inaccurate, and deliberate use of bad arguments is a way for mafia to cast doubt on innocents (That scenario may or may not be what happened, of course).

Bad arguments!?! I think not!
Cast doubt on innocents!?! You mean, like you are trying to do to me?

Re: Mafia - Game III
We've got good discussion happening. I'm still not entirely unconvinced that there isn't something strange about godfry but I realize he's new at this game but I won't put it past him given what I know of how his mind works from his history at FF.
Leesifer, not setting my alarms off right now.
trillian...she's so hard to read, I'm always feeling paranoid around her because I've seen what she can do. She's definitely high on my suspicious list just because of her history.
julie's been kind of erratic and there was something about her posts that just bothered me. For me, both julie and godfry are the ones who are worrying me the most.
Joshua Adam is a bit suspicious to me, let's call it being too helpful and too quick to cast suspicious upon others.

Yes, it's always possible that a bad argument is bad on purpose. Clutch was drilling me last game even though he knew for a fact that I was innocent, for example. However, I don't suspect you very much, and I'm not really trying to cast doubt on you. If I wanted to lynch you, I would have voted for you back when I unvoted Lees.

Re: Mafia - Game III
I wish I could stay up late at night, to get some of that action.
Honestly, I don't really have any good suspicions against anyone, and there is something in what Josh said about my casting aspersions on godfry. But, just like godfry is trying to do (unfortunately, with me), it's a matter of trolling the waters to see what's biting.

I think you just have a different point-of-view. To me, him throwing Spencer, Julie, and myself out there, admittedly just to get the ball rolling, is trying to start bandwagons. Whether that bandwagon actually takes off, is another story. I counted three names, so I will officially amend my statement from "serveral others" to "a couple of others". Maybe saying "serveral" instead of "a couple" is a bit of an exaggeration, but I would hardly call it blatant misdirection.

I believe you have got a couple separate events tangled up. He voted for Spenser as part of the "get rid of the vacation guy" thing; his vote for Julie was a prod to get her to say something (a tactic used by others, notably, beyelzu). The three people he fingered as mafia were you, Leesifer, and TomJoe. His actions, in that regard, aren't much different (well, any different) than anybody else voicing their top suspicions. I'm actually inclined to see this as unlikely mafia behavior. Why? Well, the mafia do not usually drum up a lynch candidate from scratch, as far as I know; they prey upon the existing townie doubts. I would be suspicious of the people who are placidly agreeing with the arguments against somebody. Pretending to be convinced by a townie's arguments seems like a good cover for the mafia, since townies are also behaving and voting similarly.

Re: Mafia - Game III
Checking in from work. I still don't have any actual evidence on which to base any suspicion, other than Lees' weird statement about ES, which is rather weak, and which she's already explained, but which still doesn't sit quite right with me.
Several other posts made last night and this morning have made me realize that I've yet again overlooked trillian. I don't suspect her right now, but I need to remember that she eixsts. She never made my suspicion list last game, simply because I kept forgetting about her.
Anyway, I'm gonna hold tight for now.

Re: Mafia - Game III
I'm not convinced of anyone's townieness other than my own, and I really don't have a strong suspicion that you're guilty. It's just that of all the non-evidence I see in the thread so far, that one statement of yours is the closest to actual evidence, IMO, and I gotta vote for someone.
Edit: the way the bandwagons are looking, I have a sinking feeling that I'm gonna be grim reaping again before Day 1 finally ends.

What's to say? I based my speculations upon the voting patterns I saw in beyelzu's eventual exit. I now know that 'bub was a townie. None of us knew that, except the mafia. My analysis of the voting patterns led me to suspect NCKev, as he followed suit in the ensuing pile-on. Because I assumed that after the first accusation and bey's self-vote that most, if not all of the mafia had voted for him. So, basically, I cast out the first vote and the last and then disposed of those who I thought had shown signs of what I would consider to be townie behavior. That left me with TomJoe, NCKev, Leesifer and to a much weaker extent, Julie. NCKev practically followed TomJoe's votes during switches. Leesifer's vote seemed to fall right in line with theirs, but I'm not as convinced.
I see I now have 5 votes...Still within the safety zone. I note that everyone I've floated accusations about has voted for me, sans TomJoe.
Somebody in there is a townie, and I suspect that Sock Puppet, who voted for me first, is a townie.
I'm a townie. I care for this town. I want to get the scum out, too. If you lynch me, you'll be really sorry, unless you're a mafioso. But then, if I'm lynched, maybe you'll all heed what I've had to say to this point. Do as you will, I'm willing to be a martyr if it teaches the rest of the townies anything. As I stated, I suspect that if I'm on target with my suspicions, I'll be offed on the first night, anyway.

Re: Mafia - Game III
Well I still have nothing to go on. My vote for NC Kev was based on his early comments, or non comments, something just didnt seem right.
godfry is starting to wine a little to much, which can be expected for someone at the head to the lynch line, but I am not quite sure what he is at the moment.
Time to go back over the thread.

Re: Mafia - Game III
Something about NcKev's posts don't ring true to me too. It was something in his explanation to JA about godfry, it didn't seem right.
I'm going to a wedding reception soon and I need to get ready, so this is the last post I'll be able to make tonight.
It seems like we're getting closer to a lynching, so before I go, I'm going to cast my vote.
I'm still a little suspect of MonCap, trillian and godfry, but I'm feeling more and more that Lees is a townie (she better not be sucking me in! ). NcKev is on my radar now too. Still, I'm going with my gut.
vote trillian
