Default Not liking Greek Health Care advice

Not that I like the father's actions either.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe...nge/index.html
Panayotis Spatharakis, director of the Heraklion Hospital, told the Daily Mirror: "We asked him why he did it and he told us he was very drunk and could not exactly remember what happened.

"I feel that once he recovers and understands what he has done he should commit suicide."

I certainly don't agree with the director of the hospital saying this either.

It is a tragic case and has been all over the papers here today. Apparently, he threw his son over the balcony first and then jumped himself, with his daughter in his arms. She survived because she landed on him. His son had no chance, because he landed on his head.

His brother committed suicide last year and there may be a history of mental illness in his family - admittedly all speculation at the moment.

I think he should have commited suicide and let the kids live. I don't get parents who think they need to take their kids out with them.

He wanted to get back at his wife. That's got to be the only possible reason he took the kids down with him. Or he was seriously seriously ill and for some twisted reason he thought his kids needed to die too.

His wife had just threatened to leave him and he was trying to get back at her.

Apparently, he is refusing all pain killers and just wants to be allowed to die.

I don't feel bad for him at all unless he is in fact clinically insane. He threw his kids over a balcony! Unless he's clinically insane, he should be off pain killers and forced to die, nevermind "allowed". :vomit:

I just cannot imagine someone doing that without going insane, especially now that he shows such regret. He should be allowed to die, IMO, but still...

I don't understand why people kill children to get at spouses. It just doesn't register.

Allegedly, he'd also taken a "cocktail" of anti-depressants and alcohol.
