Re: Countdown from one million thread
Good to hear that the boiler nightmare is over!
I drove into town today to get my turkey day fixins. Along the way it was windy, then came rain, then a huge amount of hail blowing sideways, then the sun came out, the rain came back and it was horizontal for awhile. All that in a ten minute drive.
Now its just heavy rain and a stiff breeze. Good news though. The power did not go out! I was wondering how I was going to deal with my groceries if the power went out.

Re: Countdown from one million thread
I'm glad your power didn't go out, PW.
It turned out that the boiler nightmare wasn't quite over. When I got home from work tonight, I thought it was a bit chilly in my house. I took a quick look at the thermostat though and it looked about right so I didn't think anything more of it. A little while later I was even colder and looked at it again. I only keep my heat set at 65 degrees as it is and it had dropped to 62 degrees. At that point, my husband went downstairs to check the boiler out after I turned the heat all the way up.... no heat. WTF?! ARRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!! All the guy did today was wire an emergency cutt off switch for the boiler so that we could get a permit for the damn thing finally, so wtf now?? While he called the heating company that we go to, got the answering service, and waited for a call back, I went upstairs, piled blankets on the bed and got underneath them. I thought that was best as I was about ready to go buy ciggs. Well, I hadn't eaten dinner (shitty night) and I had just come downstairs to put something in my stomach so I could get to sleep, when my husband came back up from the basement with good news. We have heat. They guy called back and in talking to each other, figured out what the problem was and my husband fixed it. The guy who wired the cut off switch in today accidentally broke a wire to the thermostat; therefore, the thermostat was not calling for heat. So... fixed.
It's frickin' COLD in here.
My whole day went to shit from about 4:00 on.
I just put a bowl of cereal into my stomach, the heat is working, and I'm going to bed. If tomorrow goes this way, I'm going to bed and staying there for at least a week.

 Shelli.
What a mess. Glad they figured out what was wrong. Your tech must've had an off day also to make that mistake and not realize it.

Re: Countdown from one million thread
974,108 Good morning Stormlight and Plant Woman
I feel totally crappy today. My right arm has been bothering me for a while. I don't know what I did with it originally, but yesterday I had to do some heavy lifting and that was not a good idea... Also I think I am coming down with a bug, throat aches and nose is a bit runny. Plus I slept like crap again because my asshole neighbor started playing music at 5 AM!
