What worries me is the automatic, knee-jerk support a "war-time" President gets from a very large portion of the public. If a suitably plausible justification for war with Iran can be manufactured/found, I wouldn't be
at all surprised if lots of people forgot all about the Iraq debacle and started holding "Hooray for Bush!" parades.

Well, yes and no. It isn't like the Democrats are much better. Like the Republicans, most (if not all) of them are bought and paid-for by corporations, including corporations that have a vested interest in keeping us on a "war-footing."
But if Gore had been in the White House in 2001 instead of Bush, I doubt very much that we'd be in Iraq today. The Democrats may be little more than the lesser of two evils, but they
are the lesser evil, from what I can tell.
