Instead of chocolate and flowers, I plan to reenact the rituals of the Lupercal, which, as reported by Plutarch, involved:

I think I'll boycott this year.

It seems to be a cursed day for us. One year my hubby was leaving for basic. The next year we got the call he was deploying, the next year he was of course deployed, had some good Valentines' in between there and then no hubby this year and it looks like no hubby next year. Stupid holiday! :mutter:

Nah, actually it's not that bad. My hubby got his Valentine's Day package I made him today and he called me as he was opening it. We were able to have a nice long chat which was really nice because he's been so busy we haven't talked much this week. We celebrate the best we can given the distance. :yup:
