2. Take us through the events as they happened - what legislations did they propose and fail to pass? What strong regulators did they vote down?

I'm a bit unclear on how you reach this conclusion. I've been voting Republican pretty much my whole life; I even voted for Bush Jr. the first time around. (I didn't the second, because I do not consider torture to be an acceptable course for our government to undertake, or even remotely tolerate.)

And so far as I can tell, a great deal of this mess is at least somewhat related to choices made by the current administration. They've had a huge impact on our economy at every level, from massive military spending to huge government agencies, to the very noticeable chilling effects their fear campaign have had.

I'm all for Republicans in office, but these apocalypse seekers are not so much my thing.
