I notice that you don't actually provide any practical means of opposing discrimination against homosexuals. Do the lives of homosexuals just not count in your "authentic anarchist" realm of Platonic abstraction?

Now, what I want to know is why a confused-socialist-who-pretends-to-be-an-anarchist such as you are seeks to defend state privilege to "married" people -- be they straight or gay -- discriminating against unmarried people.
That statement makes no syntactic sense. Are you saying that the state allows married people to discriminate against unmarried people? It might do better if you concentrated more on your prose than on coming up with cutesy and inaccurate hyphenated names for people you disagree with.

P.S. Continuing to call me a "confused socialist" when I have consistently embraced socialism doesn't actually change my mind, or even irritate me. Instead it just convinces me that you're an idiot who hasn't the first clue about the ideological and historical roots of anarchism. In short, you are a very confused pseudo-anarchist.

Luigi Fabbri had this to say about people like you:

Quote:
The Anarchists have always maintained that life is not possible without association and solidarity, and that struggle and revolution are not possible without a pre-existing organization of revolutionaries. But it's more convenient for bourgeois writers to paint us as promoters of anarchy in the sense of confusion, chaos; and they commence to say that we're agents of chaos, enemies of all organization...Many Anarchists swallow the bait and in seriousness become promoters of chaos, Stirnerites, Nietzscheans, and other similar absurdities. They reject organization, solidarity, and socialism; some even end up sanctifying private property, and in this manner end up playing the game of the bourgeois individualist.

—from Bourgeois Influences on Anarchism

Good for you. You are starting to learn something -- namely that anarchism does not solve all problems created by man.

Irrelevant.
Whether I can solve all of the problems of the world has no bearing on the illegitimacy of the state and state coercion.

Stop playing stupid. Married people are granted privileges by the state --- you enumerated them -- that single people are denied. You, sir, are a statist.

No, but it does have a great deal to do with assessing whether I should pay any attention to you and your criticisms.

Married people are granted privileges by the state in regards to each other. It is difficult for single people to be granted the right to visit a loved one they don't have, to inherit from a loved one they don't have, etc. Now, if they are in a romantic relationship with someone, then their rights could be guaranteed (at least in the context of the state) by the reintroduction of common-law marriage. Which is something I would support, as you would know had you bothered to ask me.

Considering that your vision of anarchism can be encompassed by representative democracy, I don't think you should be throwing the word "statist" around. It might come back to bite you.

For example, do you remember this claim?

What else would a hierarchical system of the governing and the governed be called but a state?

It would seem that asking how deal with questions of any kind are "stupid evasions" - I declare Samuel an "Ignorantarian" - as it seems in his "theory" involves just ignoring it and it will go away, rather than recognizing the problems and how to untangle them.

:manhug: Uth.

In four years a goodly proportion of the elderly people that voted against Prop 8 will have carked it and there'll be a new harvest of young liberals ready to give "rights" to the gay community. As if "rights" need to be given. Shite state of affairs.

On another topic, what's going to happen in Delaware now? Biden was running in that election and according to Yahoo won it handily. Do they have another election to choose the new Senator or does the Governor appoint someone?
