Shouldn't you be out protesting the murder of the special snowflake they removed from that kid's brain? No exceptions for the health of the conjoined brain!

Um, doctors removed a fully formed foot and some intestines from a baby's brain.
That they can't create an amoeba seems really anticlimactic and unrelated.

Re: Foot found in newborn baby's brain
When science creates an amoeba, believe me, you will know. In a laboratory accident caused by the hubris of the lead researcher, it will be irradiated. A genetic flaw which had been identified by a junior researcher will cause it to grow to an enormous size, and it will harbor truly malign intentions. Having escaped from captivity on the remote research island, it will be strengthened by the seawater and stronger than ever as it arrives on shore in a major American metropolis. It will only gain additional strength from the military's conventional attempts to pacify it, absorbing the energy of the attacks and using it to vent its single-celled fury on block after block of skyscrapers.
I only hope the junior researcher can get to the President in time.

You have plainly implied that the designer of this baby (stipulating for the moment that there was no sabotage) is an idiot. That's more than absurdly presumptuous considering that if you had a million years to do it, you couldn't create so much as a single functioning brain cell.

Sabotage? Oh my gawd do you mean like a demon or something?
It's a parasitic twin. One twin absorbed the other one. It happens actually fairly frequently, though sometimes the other twin just vanishes and it's various parts don't start growing in it's sibling. That's fucked up if there was a designer who put these processes in place with such ridiculous flaws.
I believe it's just nature though, so just one of those things.

Re: Foot found in newborn baby's brain
God can't stand it, he knows you planned it
He's a set it straight, teratomagate
He can't stand creatin' extra feet in here
Cause his crystal ball ain't so crystal clear
So while you sit back and wonder why
I got this fuckin' extra leg in my side
Dark spirits, it's a mirage
I'm tellin' y'all it's sabotage

Re: Foot found in newborn baby's brain
Sabotage? Really?
Does your brain even try to form cogent thoughts anymore?
Also, what the flying fuck does a scientists ability or non-ability to create protozoa have to do with cell differentiation, tumors, brains, feet or cancer?

Sure. Why not?
You obviously don't have a better explanation.

If you don't know why something happens, what is the point of turning that ignorance into such a vacuous pretense of an explanation?

I like how he snipped the obviously better explanation, declared there was no better explanation, and decided to go with the demon sabotage.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IT'S NOT MAGIC, SMART GUY?

Thanks for reminding me about that thread's payload of pure awesome, especially ManM's encounters with alien bounty hunters and LadyShea's threadwinning "You mean it's a dream. Got it."

I'm just glad all these creatures land in America first. I mean, Godzilla was nearly as big as the UK, so we would definitely have lost that one.

Nature is mindless and fucked up things happen all the time.
No explanation is necessary unless you are asserting that the Universe and everything in it is the flawless design of an all powerful being, and any "mistakes" chalked up to apparently equally powerful demons.
