Default Re: What are you?

I couldn't complete it because I found too many questions were missing options that would map to my beliefs and some forced choices between options that I think are both true, for instance:

Quote:
Why is there terrible wrongdoing in the world?

(the question here is itself problematic, but presuming a particular meaning for wrongdoing, I would choose both options below)

- Egoism (self-importance) leads to desire, craving, and attachments, which can lead to unwholesome thoughts and behavior, i.e., greed, hate, and violence.

- No supernatural or spiritual reasons. Human nature, psychology, sociology, criminology, etc., explain wrongdoing. Or not sure. Or not important.

I selected the bottom choice and low for all answers and this is what I got:

1. Nontheist (100%)
2. Secular Humanism (100%)
3. Liberal Quakers (71%)
4. Jainism (61%)
5. Orthodox Quaker (61%)
6. Taoism (61%)
7. Theravada Buddhism (61%)
8. Unitarian Universalism (61%)
9. Hinduism (47%)
10. Mahayana Buddhism (47%)
11. Seventh Day Adventist (47%)
12. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (33%)
13. Baha'i Faith (28%)
14. Neo-Pagan (19%)
15. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (0%)
16. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (0%)
17. Eastern Orthodox (0%)
18. Islam (0%)
19. Jehovah's Witness (0%)
20. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (0%)
21. New Age (0%)
22. New Thought (0%)
23. Orthodox Judaism (0%)
24. Reform Judaism (0%)
25. Roman Catholic (0%)
26. Scientology (0%)
27. Sikhism (0%)

It is interesting that the scoring allows 100% nontheist and 47% Seventh Day Adventist. This test is even odder than QM.

Maybe the implication is that Seventh Day Adventists "don't care" about a lot of the same issues you don't care about.

ETA: Do you mean the bottom, bottom option? As in "None of the above"? Or the one just above it?

Which would indicate that some fraction of the questions, perhaps as many as 47% of them, just don't have anything to do with religion.

: The very bottom option. It is something I do to a test to sort of test it.

I wonder why non-theist didn't even appear in my top five. :chin: I agree that a lot of questions didn't really have the right answers, but that is always true for these types of things.

3. Islam (90%)
4. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (89%)
5. Eastern Orthodox (81%)

24. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (21%)

Apparently you can be 100% Orthodox Jew, 65% Seventh Day Adventist and 21% nontheist. This test is odder than QM by far.

They ought to use different criteria for different religions.

Non-theist should really only be decided by what your opinion is on the questions relating to the existence of/worshiping of God, because I answered in a way that is pretty much 100% non-theist.

Its curious, given how close Taoism and Buddhism are, that you can be a 100% Theraveda Buddhism, 53% Hinduism and only 48% Taoism.
