I can see why not the head, but chest shots aren't really to the point, either.

Just watch...They'll say it enough times they'll find a face in the crowd who now works at FAUX News and they'll become the on the spot reporter. Somebody is combing the crowd pix for likely faces as we text. I hope they check on the after hours cleaning crew.

Heehee, I crashed the Tea Party in my town this evening. It was interesting. I got lots of pics that I sent to Huffington Post. If anyone wants to see them, maybe I'll make a slide show and post a link. In the meantime, here's a shot of the area while they were setting up, so you can see how lovely it was before they all got there.



All in all it was a pretty peaceful event, with somewhere between 100-150 people in attendance (I think). Some really dumb signs, some a bit mean-spirited, and speakers with agendas - one person was talking about Glenn Beck's 9/12 website as though it were hers. Each person seemed to have their own personal issue to protest.

Absolutely – it was a grassroots movement funded by Exxon-Mobil and the Olin and Bradley Foundations (two among the Four Sisters that have funded the far right media) that was advertised extensively by Fox News as the backlash that would be coming from those average Americans, the stock traders of Chicago. The GOP has no principles or philosophy to express in any explicit way except that billionaires create it for them. The GOP has shackled itself to militias, bible thumpers and purveyors of the final political frontier – free association political theories requiring no evidence, but only innuendo. GOP conventions of the future can be expected to look like masquerades with people dressing up as Uncle Sam, colonial era minute men, or Sergeant Rock.
We desperately need single payer health care so that Republicans can afford to take their meds!

NPR/OPB advertised this event 5 times in the half hour I was cooking dinner last night.

Funny, the thousands of anti-war protesters got a small mention at the time. I guess those hundreds were really, really news worthy.
