It certainly is interesting that our congresscritters don't want to see certain types of information. Do you think that is because they've been paid handsomely to look the other way, and then, when constituent lives are on the line, constituents get pretty pissy about it? Pissy constituents make congresscritters lives less than happy.

Notice how "you'll make important people angry" seems to be seen as a reason in itself for a public servant not to do her job.

The "Car Talk" guys used to give out bumper stickers that read, "Shut Up and Drive!". I've seen those on occasion, and I always think they're amusing.

Occasionally, I'll see someone pulled off to the side of the road while having a conversation on his/her cell phone. I'm always tempted to stop and congratulate that person for being a responsible driver.

Sadly, it's not exactly surprising that politicians would attempt to suppress information that's inconvenient for their supporters. Still, it's depressing. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Every time I think I'm too cynical about politics, something comes along to remind me that I'm not cynical enough.

Actually, I believe that Car Talk! used the logo, "Drive Now, Talk Later", rather than the "Shut Up and Drive!"

They started out yeeeears ago, trying not to be strident and annoying. It didn't work, and the last I heard, they'd stopped trying to be diplomatic about it and were basically insulting anyone who drove and used a cell phone simultaneously.

Up until the "Impeach" bumper sticker came along, the only bumpersticker I'd allow on my vehicle was the "Hang Up and Drive" sticker I bought in Canada....because I'd never seen one here in the US. I've gotten multiple compliments on it; many of them from service station attendants.

I wouldn't be surprised...They've been at it actively for nearly twelve years now, trying to put the truth of the issue in front of the American public which listens to them...and still, they get these great screaming morons calling in while driving.

These people must have the single damaged and dysfuntional brain cell very similar to ChuckF and his cum-garglers. Do you think it is some kind of congenital abnormality, the result of a meningeal infection, or merely the result of some kind of brain trauma? I mean...really...somebody would have to be seriously brain damaged to opine for more manslaughter...more murder...more callous indifference to the suffering of others....all of which could be avoided through simple thought, reflection, ability to analyze the data and apply it to oneself, and the willpower to apply it. Thanks for taking an interest, mickthinks, but you haven't actually offered an answer. It may be difficult to say whether or not you were being dishonest, but this isn't really any kind of attempt. Can you not say whether or not you were being dishonest? I think it's a fair question.

I don't expect you to answer it because you don't have the moral courage to admit that you're a liar. But I reckon that justice demands it be pointed out that you are also a lying moral coward.
