Funny I read that as "despite the troll"

I totally agree, modern american can run their giant SUVs on magical fairy dust and strawberry flavored unicorn piss.
In the end the people and corporations are to blame for our mass consumption. Everything is a trade off. You either get death or no SUVs, take your pick.*

*SUVs are just an example, it could be expanded to many items the modern consumer drools over.
