Default ACLU online survey

Quote:
Tonight, President Obama will address the State of the Union.

After one year of his presidency, we have reviewed the progress made on civil liberties. Of a set of 145 detailed recommendations the ACLU made to the new president upon his election, the administration has acted on just over one-third of them.

We’d like to know what you think about the state of civil liberties. Where has our government moved forward? Where have things slipped backwards? And what should be the top priorities now?

Your opinion helps strengthen our work when we meet with administration officials and members of Congress, in addition to helping the ACLU shape our agenda.
ACLU Survey

How would you rate the work that President Obama has done so far when it comes to protecting the Constitution and restoring respect for civil liberties and all the other questions in this survey?

I took that ACLU poll and voted "Poor" on all counts. I feel that Obama has failed. He ran on a platform of "CHANGE" but all of his actions shored up Bush Administration policies. I'm bitterly disappointed in Obama and the entire Democratic Party. They have moved too far away from the longstanding party platform. I only stay registered as a Dem so I can vote for progressives in the primaries.

All the Kennedys must be rolling in their graves.

:yeahthat: I didn't submit the survey because I didn't want to give out my name and e-mail (lol ACLU) but yeah pretty much "poor" on all that. Basically the same disappointment with the Democrats too, dating back to at least 2003. Probably more like 1992, but I was 9 then, cut me some slack.

Yeah, I thought this was the case, so you can imagine my chagrin.

Obama run on a platform of pretty words, deep and meaningful (appearing) pauses, good looks, and not being a retarded chip with a war fixation.

Bingo. I think the president (both Obama and Bush) get too much blame in some cases. Obama ran on change but he was backed by the same democrats that have been nodding in agreement with the conservatives.
