Re: Gush, Babble, and Glow Happily Thread
I do not have a stomach ache. This despite the following exchange with an idiot:
Me: So, you know, I could take the relapse thing, because that's just part of the whole thing, but the lying is really outrageous. I mean we were JUST talking about this this week.
Idiot: I don't have any control over whether you believe me or not.
Me:You do, though, have control over whether you are believe-able.
But really - no stomach ache, and I have actually slept mostly pretty well except for the darned cat, and my dreams are not so much stressy.
I feel like i should be a lot more upset, but I am actually - DETACHING. Aren't I a big gal now?

Re: Gush, Babble, and Glow Happily Thread
So, my friend who works at no-name department store, which will from now on be referred to as "Walmart", called me up to tell me about the treatment of the fish in their live pet department. He has known me for a very long time, and knew that I am a crazy bitchy protester when it comes to the inhumane treatment of animals, fish in particular because they get overlooked. He let me know that he felt the fish weren't being cared for as the tanks were dirty, covered in algae, and just basically looked like no maintenance had been done to them. He mentioned that some fish on the floor were dead, and that no one had removed them. I asked him a few more questions, and decided it also sounded like they hadn't been cared for at all.
So, I wrote an extremely polite and wordy complaint to their corporate office. I knew I had hit some strings when one of the managers called me back not even two days later apologizing. He did a terrible job, however, as he had no idea what he was talking about. He tried(knowing that I have been in the fish business for years) to feed me 'fancy' words including: 'special water(pronounced WAuW-tur)' and 'special filter'. Because that totally convinced me that he knew what he was talking about.
Well, my friend informed me today that the manager that was actually in charge of the fish maintenance made it back from vaca today. He was incredibly angry to find out that jerk-face mentioned above had done absolutely nothing to the tanks, even though it had been his job to take over maintenance. He actually didn't even go over to the tanks until he received my letter.
THEN he informed me that all manager calls are recorded. I was ecstatic, as this piece of comedy gold was ACTUALLY heard by someone other than me! The store manager chewed jerk-face out for not only not doing his duties, but for feeding me a line and sounding like a dumb ass.
Some quotes included but not limited to:
"An expert knows when they are being fed a line."
"What good are you?"
My friend also informed me that the manager in charge had completely revamped the place and the fish were looking safe, healthy, and that this manager knew words like 'water conditioner' and 'carbon filter'. I am really happy that I could change the way a large store like that views the care put into their fish, and that these creatures are now being cared for properly.

Re: Gush, Babble, and Glow Happily Thread
Moving very soon to a two-bedroom unit in this same complex. We've been the two of us grownups and a kid for four days and another for two days since July. Squishy. Sleepless. Soon to be alleviated by our having our own bedroom. With a bed which does not fold up every day and which if we don't make (ahem ahem, if Joe6 - the usual maker of the bed-doesn't make) it won't matter because people of short stature won't be whining about not being able to sit anywhere.

Re: Gush, Babble, and Glow Happily Thread
Yesterday one of the speakers of my regular stereo died for some reason or other. And today I noticed that one of my puter speakers was also dead. I no longer had a stereo but two monos!
But!
I went out to the puter store this afternoon and bought me a set of speakers for a reasonable price that has a really great sound!
And plus also!
I can and did hook up my record player to it!

Re: Gush, Babble, and Glow Happily Thread
After years and years of trying to get my hair to just lay down I have decided to give in to the fluffy. It's huge. I even bought it a Product which Adds Lift just to let it know that I am committed to the Huge. We are verging on 1986 proportions here.
The best part is that one of my favorite co-workers is intrigued and asked if she could use the stuff, so we're about to be Product Sisters. I told her that anything in the fridge or on the bathroom counter with "Caligulette" written on it was fair game for her to use.
I feel pretty and also kind of naughty.

Re: Gush, Babble, and Glow Happily Thread
I thought my boss was coming back from vacation yesterday and I have spent the last two days being almost on time and pretending to work and wondering when he would pop in and I just now noticed on the calendar that he's not coming back for another week. Gush! Babble! Glow!

Re: Gush, Babble, and Glow Happily Thread
I just got Office 2010 for my new puter via my employer, completely legal and mine all mine, for only $9.95. I paid another $12 for a back-up DVD just 'cause I'm old and purely online DLs frighten and confuse me, but that's still only $21.95 for legally obtained software that's like $150 or more for the unwashed masses.
I know, LOL M$ Office and fuck you anyway nobody asked you.
