ITSOZ' thread on relative size of economies led me via a series of idle clicks to an interesting graphic at Wikipedia showing British overseas territories. While all of them are tiny, I find it fascinating that there are still so many of them dotted around the globe:

British Indian Ocean Territory includes the island of Diego Garcia which the British have leased to the US. It is pretty obvious why it is a popular destination for long distance bombers: you can reach pretty much anywhere in Africa, the Middle East, Southern Asia and Australia from there.

The British have deported the entire population, they are still involved in legal battles to try and get the legal right to go back.

Can't you add the Dominion states, as well? The British Dominion does still exist, doesn't it?
