I'm contemplating trying out the Pumpkin Cake with Whiskey Whipped Cream for Thanksgiving.

Her chocolate milk recipe, if you cool and and whip it a bit makes a good frosting for cup cakes.
Weird coincidence, that's what I made for Qingdai jr.'s birthday cupcakes.

You know, I've never been a fan of squash, but damn if she didn't make that one look very appetizing.

Ooh, that acorn squash does look good. My grandmother made it that way for me a few times, so thanks for the reminder. I just went to the store and bought one so I might try it this way tonight.

It turned out pretty good, just about how I remembered it. But this time, I added a little bit of cognac.

I made the Chocolate Sheet Cake from this blog this morning and it's already a third gone!! OMG it's BAD/GOOD!! It uses almost a pound of butter between the very tender cake and the fudge like frosting.

Ree Drummond, aka Pioneer Woman, is going to be on Throwdown with Bobby Flay next Wednesday, a 2 hour Thanksgiving special. Instead of the usual head-to-head competition, they are to work together to make a Thanksgiving feast. The show is to be filmed in her kitchen on the Drummond family ranch near Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

That Ree is a gorgeous auburn-haired woman makes it more likely I'll sit through 2 hours of television. Besides, she is from Bartlesville originally, about 35 miles from where I was born on a farm in the Chautauqua Hills.

Oh, and make the above-linked chicken salad. It's divine. The curried chicken pasta salad is nice, too, but we prefer the original.
