Default Republican Mobs attack Healthcare Townhalls

Rally Interrupts Dem Rep.'s Health Care Town Hall - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

Quote:
This mob, sent by the local Republican and Libertarian parties, did not come just to be heard, but to deny others the right to be heard. And this appears to be part of a coordinated, nationwide effort. What could be more appropriate for the 'party of no' than having its stalwarts drowning out the voices of their neighbors by screaming 'just say no!'" Doggett said in the statement. "Their fanatical insistence on repealing Social Security and Medicare is not just about halting health care reform but rolling back 75 years of progress. I am more committed than ever to win approval of legislation to offer more individual choice to access affordable health care. An effective public plan is essential to achieve that goal.
So the republicans don’t believe people have a right to talk in a townhall, use hate to pass their message, burn effigies of those they hate, and think a minority should dictate what the majority want, all while being financed by large corporations. Where have I seen this before?

It's his complaint, Brim.

He's the fascist who resents free speech or anything which questions any authorities with which he happens to agree. What you might think is the real problem is immaterial.

To him.

I wasn't aware people from outside the congressional district were called "constituents". Once again your republican warped view of the universe is showing.

People other the my congresscritter's constituents speak to him and attempt to influence him all the time.

And they have more influence than I, or most other constituents, do. They are called "lobbyists".

I'd be much happier with these "protesters" if they were to gather seemingly spontaneously and then broke out into a group dance to Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean".

:glare:
You seemed confused about the citizen representative relationship.

See, in America the citizens do tell their representative what to do. It is not the reverse.

Not at all. I simply know the difference between:

a. citizens addressing a representative;
b. partisan mobs intent on preventing any discussion with said representative

Clearly you do not.

And, I suspect that the partisan mobs cannot be clearly pegged to any specific representative's district, either. Are you sure that the membership of these mobs are even constituents? If so, how?

I doubt they are. If you look at the groups organizing these disruptions, it's some of the same "Brooks Brothers riot" folks and the Swiftboat Liars.

It wouldn't surprise me if they were bussed in from out of state.

This does indeed bring back touching memories of the Brooks Brothers Riot.

Thanks for beating me to the punch, Sauron!

Got it, representatives only represent those citizens which agree and all others gathered are mobs.

I see that you are another of those dolts who slept through their high school civics class.

Representatives who fashion legislation and control the nation's purse strings are elected to represent the citizens of a given geographical area. As to who they lend their ear is dependent upon their particular opinions and sets of attitudes. Had I been a Representative who'd seen such actions take place in front of me, I'd immediately discount those comments made by those who shouted down, or prevented others from speaking.

But that's just me. I don't like intimidation being done by ignorant bullies.

Try fukkin' stayin' awake in class, JERONG.

No, the others are "mobs" because they aren't there to discuss the issue in the first place; only to *block* discussion of it.

Like I said - you don't get it. Intentionally, I might add.

No, I certainly got it.

Only discussions of representatives with their constituents are those that the representative deems, all other addresses of grievances with government are deemed mobs.

You must think the picture below was also a mob, and not an address of grieves with government. At least if you are going to be consistent.

Except there was nobody in your photo blocking discussion of an issue, or preventing a congressman from being heard. As usual, you fail.

Is that the best you have, anyhow? It's either swat you like a stupid gnat, or watch reruns on TV. You're rapidly losing your entertainment value.

O, Dark Lord...The JERONG is a singularity. A mass of seemingly fluctuating density, with obvious punctuated periods of extreme density...of 'being thick as a brick', as it were. Beyond gold, uranium, or even ChuckF. Other times, he seems almost pathetically human. It is quite easy to lose interest...fast. We have attempted to identify the event horizon to warn others, but it has yet to be stable enough to predict with accuracy when, upon what subject, or how extremely he will be totally offbase and clueless....but he will be.

Is this really the best democracy your money can buy? I hope not, 'cos the US is all about "exporting" democracy I hear. :nono:
