Default The Home Bakery: Ciabatta Bread

As inspired by a familiar traveler on the Seas of Fate from the underworld....here is my attempt to bake ciabatta bread.

My take will also involve the addition of homegrown jalepeno peppers into half of the loaf prior to baking.

Here is the method I will be using and have found it very easy so far:

From my oven...

So, from here to 0830 hours Sunday morning we will let it rise...and we will wait.

:spchef:

From my sink...

The picture isn't showing, possibly because the account merge (O HAI RONIN) confused the Gallery. Please to try again.

I made ciabatta bread by mistake once. I was making no-knead bread and instead of using rapid rise yeast as the recipe called for, I used regular active dry so the loaf ended up wide and low. It was still damn good, much to my amazement.

All prior photo uploads during the interim necessity are now gone.

Don't worry though, you should have seen the mess that was made when I stopped the neutrino vent near the Cloverleaf galaxy on my way home late one night so that I could pick up some fine Pendolino.

Fortunately, I keep backup copies of all of my appendages and before you knew it I was up and running.

And if you're wondering...worth it.

Sorry, kind of an extraordinarily busy week.

I'll post pix of the bread later.

It definitely needed more baking, but I was called out, so had to remove it from the oven a bit soon and could do nothing more about it.

In the meantime, while I mull things...
