Countdown to Obama caving!

So Obama has a proposal to create some jerbs and he is going to tell Congress about it if that nice Mr. Boehner will let him.

Normally I would quote something here, but does it even really matter what it says? This is a thread about how long it will take Obama to cave to Congressional Republicans and commentators and Rick Perry and Sarah Palin, and other very serious people with things to say.

So basically, when will this proposal to create jobs by closing tax loopholes and all that stuff be fully transformed, by the magic of complete and total capitulation, into its final shape of huge and permanent tax cuts for the top 1%.

Vote! If you want, because wtf difference does it make anyway.

I voted for 24 hours, but in my head I said 30 minutes or 30 hours or some other time of 30 somethings. But that's totally not fair because all the talking mouths have to fapurgitate various policy things and party lines for at least 24 hours before anyone actually does anything about being for it or against it. But I was sorely tempted to vote Poland Jobs because, let's be honest, that's the most likely end result.

I give it 3-4 days, but my money (ha!) is on the actual caving taking the form of every dollar's worth of tax loopholes closed being matched with n dollars in cuts from vital social programs entitlements, because of shared sacrifice, and also some caveats and exceptions that lead to at least 50% of the nominal increased revenue never actually materializing.

I kind of expect Obama to start his address by closing down the EPA in an attempt to soften up Republicans so maybe they will be a little nicer to him. Like last week when he unilaterally surrendered on new smog standards, because maybe some moderate Republican somewhere will like him. And anyway asthmatics and old people are perfectly atomic individuals responsible for acting in their own self interest, with no non-contractual duties whatsoever to any other person, just like the rest of us.

About 1.37 days after teh jerbs speech he will ask himself "What would John McCain do? and refuckulate his position based on that answer, since that's been the pattern for the last 2.8 years.

I was just imagining if instead Obama and his associates kept pounding on and on about how Republicans will not vote for a jobs bill on the TV shows and in the newspapers and making speeches and things and about how none of their suggestions will create jobs and what we need is a jobs bill and generally making their points forcefully and eloquently.

Pretty nice daydream.

Well, shit, as long as we're daydreaming, what if the administration, and the Democrats in the legislature, had been pounding away at the jobs message for the last two years? Labeled every effort to change the public focus to issues of interest to the non-working class as distractions from the essential issue of jobs? Jobs, jobs, jobs?

Almost, he said something along the lines of having come up with 5,000 regulations that needed to be removed because they cost business some great amount of money that could be better used by business to create jobs.
