Default Signing up for Obamacare

Not sure if anyone here is going to have to find insurance through the exchanges, but I am helping a few acquaintances who are very frightened by the socialism and oppression, so am monitoring things. I am using the Federal Exchange due to scary unwanted oppression as well.

The website doesn't work for me today. As I predicted. More to come when I actually get access! Your stories, if they exist, can go here.

I'm signing up, to see if I can reduce my monthly insurance rates (I insure myself). I'll let people know how it goes. My insurance is currently about 500 per month, with no drug plan, and only covering major medical, so I pay for every doctor's visit.

Shea, do you know about the navigators? I don't know much except some crap I saw on the daily show like some states (namely Florida) doing all they can to prevent their citizens from knowing about them, like making laws against them doing outreach and shit. Because there's no way anybody in Florida would need help navigating this shit. What the fuck, Florida?

They are only available for state exchanges, not the Federal as far as I can tell.

I have good heath insurance so I won't sign up. Suck it American poors.

But the system was designed for my Sister in Law, who can afford new cars, new tattoos, new iPhones, etc. but not insurance for her or her kids. She's been young and healthy, right. But her kids have been getting hospital care from the state and she hurt her back like most out of shape 30 somethings who aren't 20 anymore. So guess what? She's in the pool whether she wants to be or not. I'm glad there is finally a way to make her pay into it while also giving her the chance not to pay thousands a month for it.

The only other alternatives were to allow hospitals to deny helping sick uninsured people at emergency rooms, and/or rely on charity hospitals. We could do both at the same time if they are run by the Jehovah Witness.

ETA: I prolly better figure out how this sign up works since 1/2 of my extended family will need help signing up.

I have good employer offered insurance as well, which I am very happy about. They are a UK based company, and I think they tried to ensure as equal as possible in the other countries they operate in.

It seems employers are doing more and more medical tourism to bypass the crappy insurance.

http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/amer...tions-20426170

So it's not just bus loads of old people going to Canada and Mexico for perscriptions anymore.

I looked at this last night. So far, it looks like it'll be much more affordable than what we currently have. I just want more details of doctors within the plans.

I'm planning on looking into it (still unemployed), but the CoverOR website is down currently, or is overloaded.

I think the teabags are going to be pissed if this thing turns out to be popular and is expanded. What better legacy for a President then to have a federal program named after you. If all uninsured people sign up for it and like it, you now have a 40 million person voting block who don't want you to touch their Obamacare.

I get that, I just can't see 40 million people liking anything all at once. Unless it's McDonalds.

Crack, because pure cocaine is too costly, would require higher co-pays. However, on the Platinum Plus plan, it is provided free.

So far, I've tried with Safari and Firefox, and crapped out on the Security Question page, as none of the questions show up in the drop down field. Now attempting to get in with Chrome.

Never mind. "The System is down at the moment. We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Please try again later."

Republicans, Teabaggers, et al, you're really reaching here. I see this as desperation. You will not win this, in fact, you're already lost that battle. So, give it up and make the best of it, take advantage of what's being offered.

You Fox News mouth-breathing idiots can go right ahead and dial 1-800-FUCKYO and see how far it gets you. Meanwhile, the rest of us with a functioning brain stem can dial 1-800-F1U-CKYO and get through to someone that can answer our questions about signing up for health insurance through the Federal Health Insurance Exchange.
