We live in societies that want lolbertarianism according to lolbertarians so.....why do lolbertarians never win elections?

Why do lolbertarians never put their money where their mouths are, and form their own countries or governments?

If lolbertarianism is so obviously superior, why do lolbertarians never have any luck in convincing other people?

Why do lolbertarians say they are for individual rights and protecting intellectual property and advancing human knowledge, but they always plagiarize other people's writing and then try to deny it?

Why is lolbertarianism only popular among basement-dwelling frustrated teenagers mooching off parents money??

I thought your argument is that libertarians were "rising?"

But here is what is scary about Libertarians: they attempt to recruit by aiming for the selfish, the racist, and exactly the low-information voters you attempt to parody above; and then they work for popular support towards many social policies that actively make things worse. The Goldwater Republicans and their cutting of taxes that support infrastructure; the push for and successful deregulation of banks; the neoliberal privitization and globalization schemes- these can all be attributed to strains of libertarian thought; the Chicago School of Economics and their impact on monetary policy can also see massive returns in the dissolution of the middle class and the enrichment of the top .01%.

Libertarians also create a vicious circle of criticizing government policy, then working to put people in place who will do everything in their power to make government worse- so as to come back around and say, See? Government IS the problem! I proved it!

I can respect a few elements of the libertarian platform: decriminalization of drugs, respecting the privacy rights of individuals, a desire to make sure government power has checks- in regards to seizing property or spying on its citizenry- and an abhorrence for foreign military campaigns. But the rest of their platform is mostly dog-whistles for racists (States Rights!), business interests that don't want their industry regulated, anti-government zealots, and powerful interests who want to privatize water, electricity generation, roads, social security, medicine, and anything else the government has a hand in.

It constantly amazes me that people trot out the "they called themselves 'socialists'!" line when anyone with the most rudimentary knowledge of how parliamentary politics works can check out who the coalition partners were after the 1933 election. The Nazis notably did not form a coalition with the SDP and KDP, but with the nationalist right DNVP and the Catholic right Zentrum. This is a pretty odd thing for a 'socialist' party to do.

I guess I shouldn't underestimate the ignorance and intellectual indolence of wingnuts.

Another indication that is pretty useful in this country is that the biggest newspaper, De Telegraaf which has always been a rightwing rag, was the only one published during the occupation, the only one allowed by the Nazi occupation authorities (some other newspapers of today like Trouw and Het Parool were resistance papers). And guess who is the biggest cheerleader of Geert Wilders and his thugs?
