Default Moveon.org doesn't like Alito

MO says bush "caved" to the farrrrrrrrrrrrrrr right in nominating Alito - he'll not support minority rights and women's rights. (Got a feeling he'll support white guy's rights. ) This is kind of funny - I thought the wingnut left has assured us for five years bush is a member of the farrrrrrrrrrrr right - then how is that "caving"? (Notice: to the wingnut left and the LME, american politics is divided into liberals, moderates, and the farrrrrrrr ultra uber extreme
rightwingggggg! :D)

NOTE, to limbaugh and his clones the american political spectrum is divided into moderats(repulbicans in general), conservatives (republicans that foam at the mouth) and wacky liberals.

liberals do not have a far left wing in their party holding high political office, there are plenty of crackpot, uber religious, ultra right leaning republicans holding office.

wow, alpha,

you sure are in rare form today, just extra fucking rational and shit.

anyway, if you want to compare ultra conservatives holding office vs ultra liberals, i am all game.

your list will probably begin and end with hillary and teddy.

the usual villains for those of the right wing.

Don't knock it. That post contained the fewest known falsehoods of any post I've seen from alphamale.

Now that you ask... it does seem a hasty assumption.

The Democratic party has made a concerted effort to roust most of the wingnuts while still trying to raise money from them. I know lots of people who didn't vote for Clinton because they thought he was a Republican. The DLC even managed to drive away moderates like Howard Dean and Wesley Clark. They certainly don't brook radicals. Most Democratic politicians oppose gay marriage and some still think the Iraq war was a good idea. Radicals? Hardly.

And that's part of their problem. After watching Clinton push NAFTA and sneak in approval of genetically modified food, the left wing of the Democratic party stopped voting Democrat. Clinton made it clear to us that he was more interested in courting votes from moderate Republicans than pleasing ultraliberals. He may have thought the ultraliberals would be safe votes but they're too finicky to get sucked into blind party loyalty. Meanwhile the Republican propaganda campaign succeeded in portraying Clinton and all other Democrats as radical socialists so that moderate Republican vote went away.

Now moderate Republicans won't vote for Democrat candidates even when their platforms are closer to moderate Republican views than their radical Republican opponents' views, liberal Democrats vote Green or don't vote at all, and moderate Democrats like me wish Jesse Ventura would re-enter politics.
