250 year old tortoise dies
Clive of India's tortoise dies
Quote:
West Bengal officials said records showed Adwaita was at least 150 years old but other evidence pointed to 250.
The shell of Adwaita, an Aldabra tortoise, will now be carbon-dated.

Poor old boy. That shell crack he developed must have been painful.

Poor thing. I bet that shell crack would have hurt baddly. But being able to find the turtles age is also cool.

Re: 250 year old tortoise dies
There is some dispute as to the true age of Clive. Estimates vary from 150 to 250. If the former, Timmy actually beat him.

Regrettable. That he lived long enough for
carbon dating
to work is pretty cool though.
