Re: Miscellany
Why do you think I got Pig chaw wrong? Those nicknames are near impossible to see.
I think your eyes may be fine, Garnet.

Re: Miscellany
Well...I had to go to the original piece and embiggen it in order to read them all...and Washington's is still not clear.
I'm just aghast that they would write 'Utah' out like that...it's just...shocking.

But you can also download high-res versions here (at the most insanely long URL ever), including an archival TIFF suitable for quality reprints!

Re: Miscellany
A few days ago, we got Zsa Zsa some new stuffed animals to play with. We didn't realize that this one little zebra puppet had a voice box thing, though. When you squeeze its nose, it whinnies three times.
She discovered this before we did, so it was TOO LATE. It's her favorite thing in the whole universe ever. She pretty much just eats, sleeps, poops, and squeezes that zebra nose. Every now and again, she'll forget about it for an hour or so, and then: OH, HEY, YEAH! THAT ZEBRA! I HAVE THAT ONE ZEBRA!
So a little bit ago, I was in the ladies' room powdering my nose and enjoying the calm before the storm. Then, I open the door, and the dog is right here, watching the door intently, with the damned zebra in her mouth. She runs away from me with her screaming zebra, checking to make sure I'm chasing her. If I don't chase her, she comes back and taunts me with it until I do.
She's behind me right now, lying on her back, holding it with her front paws, and squeezing it over and over and over.
It's going to be an all dog and zebra show. Pray for me.

Re: Miscellany
We got a squeaky plastic hippo for Lulu some months ago. She went absolutely wild on discovering it had a squeak.
It's no longer a exclusive favourite toy but it can still get her excited if we squeeze it.

I wish I could say I dig the one with fast food mascots, but I don't. Which is weird cuz I really dig those fast food mascots. I dig the one you linked though. I wish it had Dr. Rockzo, though. You're thing is so many kinds of awesome, though. I can't get over it.

Re: Miscellany
This is how I see it...
Joker as played by Jack Nicholson, joker as played by Cesar Romero, Joker as played by Heath Ledger, Krusty, Old school jack in the box I had as a kid, Captain what's his face from the Rob Zombie movies, Pennywise, Jigsaw, Jack, another Jack in the box, Homie the Clown, John Wayne Gacy (sick but true), and Ronald.
ETA, Homie don't play that!

Re: Miscellany
Oh yeah! Homie the Clown! I can't believe I forgot that. I loved Homie.
I'm ashamed to have missed too, and John Wayne Gacy. I just saw a movie about him recently.
I never would've gotten Pennywise; I read the book but never saw the movie.

Re: Miscellany
Well hell. My favorite squirrel, Cusser, is dead. I came home and there was a massive Squirrel war going on in the cotton wood tree. I counted six of them just in the one tree, and it was a mob. They scattered once the dogs and I went out there and I was amazed at how many there were.
Then I noticed that there was something wrong. That tree has a cavity from where an old limb was removed. I saw a tail hanging limp out of it, blowing in the wind. That was Cusser's nest. I was hoping maybe he was just sunning himself, though typically he does that on a nearby branch. But no, he is no more. Now I have to figure out how I'm going to get him down from there. It's about twenty feet up and I don't have a ladder that big. Maybe Mr. Monde will be able to put his height to use when he gets home.
I'm going to miss that little guy, he was a riot. He would talk trash and throw anything he could get his little claws on at you. He would scold and shake his tail telling the whole neighborhood about your mom and what she'd been up to. A tough guy, he would dare the dogs to get him and they loved it. They would bark and dance and he'd scold and charge. Sylvie would run from him. He kept other neighborhood squirrels out of his turf. He had prime real estate in that tree. A high and dry nest with easy access to the neighbor's paper shell pecan tree. It looks like it was a gangland style hit, a whole mob can't be put off by tough talk. Now I wonder who'll move in.
RIP Cusser.

Re: Miscellany
Cusser's absence has created a major power vacuum. Outside my window is an epic struggle. Every two minutes I see a couple of squirrels in the elm going at each other like Highlanders. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.

You can tell they fudged the timing a little bit now and then, but it's still suprising how well the lyrics match the music. Eminemmy Hill -- yeah, if the name's not enough warning for ya, too bad.
