Our family friends who have sheep use a local guy to butcher their lambs for mutton every year. He butchers goats too. He's either Mexican or Guatemalan and mainly serves the Central American community in the area. I've never had the goat meat before, but the mutton is delicious. Once a year he comes and picks up 15 or so lambs and comes back a few days later with some delicious mutton. They used to have a halal butcher they worked with, but I think he moved.

Well. I had four bosses. Two days before half of them fired me for "productivity", the other half had told me that my "productivity has really improved" and that they weren't interested in firing me.

I was mocked by one of my bosses for being gay, but he did it passive aggressively so it doesn't count.

I'm not saying I wasn't ever lazy, either. I just think they're a lot of lying, hypocritical idiots who don't have an ounce of people skills.

It sucks to have four bosses.

Any decent organisation, you ought to only have one immediate boss (though of course she may have a boss of her own plus other 'sibling' bosses at the same level with other people working for them).

So normally you do whatever a higher up person requests of you, but when there's some conflict (maybe two different higher-ups asking you to do two different things) then you have just one boss whose job it is to resolve that conflict.

They used it to their advantage a lot. Given that only two were ever there at the same time, they could always shift the blame off themselves or just confuse the hell out of you over "what I've been told". If you ever got in trouble, you never got to deal with the boss who was there the night it happened, so anything you said to defend yourself was to someone who was ignorant of what was going on that night, stuff like that. They also had three of them come in one night, specifically to blackmail me into accepting a new position, with the threat of firing me, when I had still yet done nothing wrong to be anywhere close to be fired. So I refused, not because I didn't want to be a cashier, but on principle that when you are being blackmailed you should stand up for yourself. So, mostly, they didn't like me because I wasn't afraid of them, I worked at my own pace (which was enough to get my work done, regardless of whatever freak slave labor other people put themselves through), and .

Back in the day, they made me a cashier as well. Then they got upset because I wouldn't smile at the customers.

I'm walking around like Frankenstein's monster; gauze wrapped around my arms and knee, scraped and bruised left breast and large swollen bruise on my foot. I dumped my motorcycle on the way to work and got some "road rash" as they say. I thought someone was about to pull out in front of me and I locked up the front brake at about 40 mph. Turns out that doesn't end well.

I pitched the collections policy I've been working on for a couple of months to the nearby museum/historical society tonight. Laptop didn't crash, and presentation went well. Other than some minor revisions/amendments which I made on the spot during the Q&A afterward, it got a two thumbs-up, and it goes up for a full vote at the next board meeting.

Just got back from an awesome Bob Mould show. My ears are ringing (one of these days I'll remember to bring ear plugs). I got covered in beer, slammed danced into, and had pot smoke blown all over me. Just like old times!

Bob put on an incredible show. He played all of Copper Blue, and then stuff from his new disc Silver Age and then some older solo stuff and some Husker Du stuff (from Zen Arcade!!!)

Seeing him in Minneapolis is always cool, it's like a homecoming for him. He looked so happy and almost surprised that there were that many people there to hear him - the place was sold out. I wanted to give him a hug, it was so sweet.

We've given him two doses of ibuprofen so far. It seems to make him more comfortable, and keep the fever a bit lower.

It sounds hokey, but Husker Du and Bob Mould have always been there during every major transition in my life - graduating from high school, going to college, moving out to Minnesota.
