You're taking my statement sex=preggers a little too literally. I'll clarify. Vaginal sex does not always result in pregnancy, but pregnancy is 99% of the time a result of vaginal sex. So if you don't want to risk getting pregnant, then don't have sex. So simple, so sure.

Don't tempt me, buddy. I've got an itchy banning finger and I'm rarin' to use it.
Nah, not really. But you probably should go to bed before you say anything (more?) you regret tomorrow. I'm pretty sure there aren't many who know that feeling better than me.

I agree with you 100%, but oddly I have this "just getting started" feeling. Does that mean I am in for an Adorastorm tomorrow morning? I mean if I misspell on purpose I would think I had a problem, but as it is I only mispel on purpose which suggests to me that while I am intoxicated I haven't yet said anything I regret. Yet. Still, tomorrow is another day that is 22 minutes away. Once that point is reached I will probably find myself saying "Holy Adora, I sure did get flirty with that hot Ensign Steve chick". We will have to wait and see though.
I am convinced I am not drunk, I simply love ensign Steve.

True. But you're engaging in a bit of hyperbole. Not having sex isn't as extreme as not breathing. Today's 'liberal' society might place a lot of emphasis on sex, and that humans need to have it like a car needs petrol, but nothing is further from the truth. And seriously, there are other alternatives to vaginal sex. If a woman wants sexual satisfication without the pregnancy bit, she should encourage her partner to talk less, and well... use his mouth for other things.
If a woman knows that she can't support another child, you think she wouldn't be so selfish as to engage in sexual intercourse, which could very well result in another child being born.
I can't stand the idiots labelling the kids as 'ungrateful'. "This poor woman wouldn't have to work so hard if it wasn't for those damn kids." Yeah, well who chose to have those kids? Are liberals so stupid these days, that they don't know that vaginal sex can produce babies?

And what about the partner in said situation? Decisions in the bedroom aren't always made with equal partner relationships involved. I'm not saying this woman made the right decisions (I believe exactly the opposite, in fact). But your whole argument condeming her is faulty, hypocritical and just plain retarded. Mostly because I don't see you laying the same blame on most of the fathers who, quite obviously, are nowhere to be found in this situation, are they? Yes, there is one mentioned (who uses the stupid argument of "She gets up to early and gets home too late to beat them", which just shows how much of a fuckwit he is), but why isn't he the one who should take equal responsibility in the whole not-popping-out-a-sprog deal?

Oh please. Once again, look up the word "menstruation", and while you're at it, the words "condom", the "the contraceptive pill", "UDI" and "miscarriage" and then see my signature before even starting to talk about hyperbole.
More hyperbole. Grow a pair of frontal lobes above the waistline and then rejoin the conversation.

One of the reasons I linked to the story initially was - aside from its locus being only a few blocks from my place - that I figured reactions would be necessarily non-partisan. Guess I was wrong.

Adora did already deal with this in her uniquely Adora fashion, but I want to add my 2cents to say this is stupid advice. When people have the urge to have sex, the thought of pregnancy isn't - usually - a particularly prominent thought on their minds. Encouraging people to use contraception is much better advice, I think, because they're more likely to actually pay attention to it.
Telling them to not have sex makes me wonder if you've appreciated how cool it actually is.

Quite simply, criticizing the actions of female does not = absolving the male of all blame. Both the male and the female share an equal responsibility when it comes to the child.

Re: Abortion: A case study
Now the woman has been released from custody, and there are no charges currently pending against her. Not only that but she has 11 kids, not 14, and she's not pregnant. Best of all, now the police have launched an investigation over allegations the woman has made, claiming the night before her arrest, a police officer had one of her children in a headlock, and told her to go get a belt and "whoop" the kid.
"He said, 'Get up and go get the belt,' " Parker said. "He had the 12-year-old choked up and told me to whoop him."
Parker said the officer had offered to hold the child while she spanked him the night before but she thought he was joking. Mother denies child abuse allegations

Re: Abortion: A case study
I have no idea what the actual facts in the case are. A mother of 11 kids or 14 doesn't make much difference to me, if she is a CNA she can't support them either way.
However, regarding the police accusations I don't find them difficult to believe. Milwaukee is known for a corrupt police dept.
When I was much younger I went to a hotel in Milw for processing into the military. I went walking around the area being bored. As I was walking on the sidewalk, off in the distance a black man was walking toward me (the mother is black which is why I mention skin color). Between us was a commercial driveway with a police car waiting to pull out into the street.
As the guy crossed in front of the police car the officer driving lurched forward and hit the breaks as if he was threatening to run over the man. The guy didn't so much as flinch which indicated to me he was used to this treatment.
I decided on the spot I was in an F'ed up area. What cop would do something like that to anyone?
Unfortunately my interactions with the Milw police dept since then have done nothing to improve my estimation of them.
So, I see a woman with 11 kids with allegations against her and I think "Anyone with 11 kids is nuts." On the other hand I consider she is black and the allegations are coming from the racist Milw police dept and the DA declined to press charges and I think "Stupid, racist cops."
I don't know which thought is more accurate.

Re: Abortion: A case study
Yes, it certainly is an issue. I don't know whether you're in Wisconsin, but if you are you're probably aware of this whole Frank Jude thing, where a bunch of off-duty cops kicked the crap out of this black guy, a male stripper that a couple of women brought to a house party in Bayview. Apparently one of the off-duty cops accused Frank Jude of stealing his car keys or something, so they beat him to a pulp.
Last week there were hearings to determine which cops would be formally charged. Evidently Jude is up on some charges himself, and the paper ran a photo of Jude in leg irons at the hearing. Crazy stuff.

Ahh, I see that you CAN'T quote me claiming that 'only the woman was to blame', so you're pulling this 'rarely commenting about the man's role' out of your rotund ass.
1. It's rather amusing how you neglected to comment on this statement, which I made near the start of the thread:
Quote:
mountain_hare said:
The dumb bitch should keep her legs closed. And the stupid bastard knocking her up needs to be castrated quick smart.
|
But hey, I think we all know why. Because it blows your silly strawman argument out of the water. Quite simply, I DID clearly state the the male shares some responsibility in the production of these 14 (now 11) children. In fact, I went even further by claiming that we should PUNISH the male by castrating him, whereas I merely stated that the woman should keep her legs closed. Punish the male, but don't punish the female. That's chauvanistic behaviour to you?
The fact that I only mentioned that the male has partial responsibility in this debacle doesn't change the fact that I did mention it, and made it quite clear that the male was partially to blame. Your failure to read my posts in depth, and have a clear understanding of my position, is not my fault. Perhaps next time you'll think twice before zealously rushing to hit the reply button. All I ask for is a little self control on your behalf.
2. I focused on the woman in the later posts because the woman was the individual being discussed at the present time. She was the one abusing the kids, and she was the one the article was referring to. She was the one numerous neighbours were feeling sympathy for. I pointed out that this sympathy wasn't justified, because she always had the choice to keep her legs closed.
If these same retards had been trying to sympathize with the man due to child welfare he had to fork out, I would have said exactly the same thing. The thing is, nobody was sympathizing with the man, so I didn't feel it merited much discussion.
Quote:
It does if that's pretty much all you go on about, as you did, rarely mentioning the penis involved at all.
|
*sighs* Addressed above. You have been caught with your pants down by demonstrating your lack of functional literacy, so now you're backpeddling.
Quote:
But at least you're trying so hard to backpeddle. It's cute, in a fucked-up way.
|
It's cute to see you try and defend the strawman you erected, which is the debunked claim that I didn't assign equal responsibility to the male. Instead you're blathering some bullshit about me 'backpeddling', as if I never said this in my first post on this thread:
Quote:
the stupid bastard knocking her up needs to be castrated quick smart.
|
You obviously missed this comment when you jumped into this thread in an effort to depict me as a typical male chauvanist pig. Now you're attempting to cover up your misrepresentations and blunders by claiming that I'm 'backpeddling'.
But hey, attempting to cover your ass after making huge blunders is something that's become something of a habit for you. You're currently doing it on the thread with Sauron regarding liberal Muslims, and you're doing it here. Instead of being decent enough to admit that you made a mistake, and that you misunderstood your opponent's position, you merely try to engage in a gymnastics event, and spin strawman bullshit. And while you're at it, you throw in an unoriginal insult or two, because you're about as adept at that as erecting straw men. I guess being dropped on your head at birth will do that to you...
Quote:
Please post proof I said "no chance", or retract your statement.
|
Please post proof that I said that you said that there was "no chance", or retract your demand for me to support a claim that I didn't make. Looks like your functional illiteracy is acting up again. I think you need to re-take the third grade.
Quote:
Wow, someone is completely ignorant on the topic of history (not to mention birthrates, average modern age of procreation, and, well anything, really), aren't we?
|
Ignorant of what exactly? Well done at being as vague as possible. Because vague claims don't require evidence, right? Just leave your opponent guessing, and the audience just might think that he is the one who is clueness.
Nevertheless, could you please clarify? And please do provide sources. Especially from wikipedia. The last time you did that in your debate with Sauron, you shot yourself in the foot. I encourage you to do so again, I need a laugh or two.
Quote:
See, the problem here is the fact you have no position, just hyperbole.
