So...I was challenged to an ice cream duel
Seriously. My ice cream bowl is chilling as we speak. Although it may just be a clever ploy to get me to bring in ice cream and my challenger doesn't plan on bringing in any at all.
I'm making vanilla, no question. But I'm going with a secondary flavor as well using things I already have on hand/in the freezer including: cherries, blackberries, blueberries, pumpkin, lemon juice and some various forms of chocolate. I might have a few raspberries left but I'm not sure. Got any inspiration for me? I've toyed with doing either lemon or some sort of mocha but it'd be nice to use some of my freezer full of fruit.

Is this like the Iowa version of getting served?
I really like cherries and chocolate. That would be like the equivalent of a windmill, I think.

Yes, yes it is. That's why I need to map my plan of attack so I can, as the young kids say, "bring it".

Re: So...I was challenged to an ice cream duel
Okay, you're going to think I'm a crazy person, but how about chocolate raspberry pavlova ice cream? The meringue chips alone would guarantee victory. You could make chocolate meringue and while it's cooling make raspberry ice cream, then break the meringue into bits and fold them into the raspberry ice cream.
All you need is egg whites, sugar and a couple of tablespoons of cocoa to make the meringue. Beat the whites to soft peaks, add the sugar and beat to stiff peaks, fold in the cocoa. You could use chocolate shavings too, to add a little textural variety.
Spread it a half inch thick on a papered sheet and bake at 250 for an hour. Then turn off the oven but leave the meringue in there for another hour. Finally take it out, put it on a rack and let it cool all the way. Once it's cool you peel off the parchment and take a hammer to it. Okay not really. Just break it up into chips with yer hands.
I am a devoted fan of raspberry pavlovas, and I've never seen it in ice cream form. This could catapult you to legendary status if it works.

From your list of on hand items: blueberries. Blueberry ice cream would be a winner. Though liv's idea is not a bad second choice.

I love this liv! I will have to check my raspberry status but even if I'm low I'm going to save this idea for the future.

GROSS! I OFFICIALLY RETRACT THAT SUGGESTION!
Actually, I did think of one, which doesn't use anything you have, but: Coconut ice cream with chocolate swirls would be really good, at least until someone came along and called it a Santorum or something.

Re: So...I was challenged to an ice cream duel
I'm unfortunately out of raspberries but I think I'm going to try some sort of lemon with a blueberry swirl.

And yet that's still somehow less gross than what happened to your last suggestion.

Re: So...I was challenged to an ice cream duel
I won. And with plain ol' vanilla no less.
The blueberry lemon was excellent, but the texture wasn't quite right due to ice cream bowl malfuctions (meaning I was too excited to make it and didn't let the bowl freeze as long as I should have). It was still delicious, nice and tart with sweet blueberry sauce goodness. So my goal is to perfect this ice cream and then world domination will probably follow soon after.

Winning with vanilla is like winning a culinary competition with an omelet: a true test of virtuoso skillz.
